RCI's fiscal year ends September 30. Its first, second and third quarters close on December 31, March 30, and June 30, respectively.
RCI was founded as Rick’s Cabaret International, Inc. in 1985 by Robert Watters.
Nobody knows for sure. Some speculate it might have come from the world famous 1943 film Casablanca. The film prominently features a nightclub called “Rick’s Café American” and was based on a play titled “Everybody Comes to Rick’s”.
In the vast majority of municipalities, sexual oriented business licenses for operating adult nightclubs are physically tied to the address, so it is in our interest to control the real estate.
The name was changed to RCI Hospitality Holdings, Inc. in 2014 to better reflect the company’s larger hospitality business.
